"There was never a question of what I was going to do with my life," muses Kai. With a guitar bought with Christmas money, Kai taught himself his first chords. It was this passion that got him out of the surf and onto a plane to America.
A notebook of songs inspired by his adventures of love and loss and dreams of a different life became his debut album "Better Now". Trips crisscrossing the country from small town coffee shops to sharing the stage with Grammy winning artists, Better Now embodied the life he had only dreamt of in song. With dreams realized it was time for a new chapter in this choose your own adventure.
Written in the sleepy beach towns of Southern California, Kai's sophomore album, "Share" radiates the comfort of an afternoon spent with an old friend. Brown bottled sunshine with warm acoustic grooves, these are tales of the joys found in the simplicity of love ("Sunday Morning"), the stark reality of heartbreak ("Break Away"), and the appreciation of every aspect of the journey, ("Moments Like This").
"This collection of songs documents my last few years. There are lessons learned, and lessons I am still learning. I believe it is the simplicity of our day to day that bonds us all together. And my goal as a songwriter throughout this record was to bring people closer to realizing we share the same space, and therefore the same beauty, and sometimes sadness, of life."
